DDL Group own two acres of woodlands in Maidstone. This Project started in 2020. The idea was to create a conservation for wildlife in the area.
We currently have plans to upcycle the wood used on previous projects to build beehives and form a bee colony. The honey produced by the bees will be donated to various local food bank charities. Bird, Bat and Hedgehog homes will also be built from upcycled from clean waste material from projects. Our target is to plant 150-200 more trees at Chartmill.
At DDL Group, we're deeply committed to a greener future, and our Wildlife Habitat Homes initiative in Maidstone is a testament to that dedication. We're partnering with local experts and eco-passionate individuals to create safe havens for precious wildlife. These miniature homes offer shelter, protection, and a cosy space for birds, insects, small mammals, and more, enhancing biodiversity and preserving our delicate ecosystem balance.
But there's more to our story! As a civil engineering company deeply rooted in sustainability, this project embodies our values and vision for a harmonious coexistence between urban development and nature. With each habitat home we craft, we're taking a significant step forward in our mission to build a better, greener world for generations to come.
